AGM & COMMITTEE
We desperately want to hold our football club AGM so we can start planning for the 2021-2022 season but COVID restriction delays have meant that our original date was no longer possible. Please keep an eye out for the new date.
The AGM is a chance for the committee to summarise the season just gone both in terms of the running of the club and to highlight any issues or successes that may have been encountered along the way. It also gives you the chance to ask the outgoing committee any questions.
We are a massive club currently with 8 sides requiring lots of hard work behind the scenes to provide all with the opportunity to play football. It would be really fantastic if we had more of you volunteering to help serve on the committee even if it’s in a small way. This can be a very rewarding experience, helping shape the direction that the club will travel over the next season or two.
Damian Woodward and Roy Clark are both stepping down from the committee after truly magnificent work so there is plenty of room for fresh blood and new ideas.
All posts are up for election and the club constitution (available on our website) highlights the roles available. Having said that we are aware that it is high time we modernised the constitution including the roles and one of the proposals is for the new committee to put forward an updated constitution for ratification.
The constitutional positions of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, House & Grounds, OWA Rep and Social Rep we hope to refine as well as perhaps enhancing some of the roles by splitting them. Financial Administrator, Facilities manager, Fixtures secretary, Recruitment and Media Management are some of the possibilities mentioned.
Please consider helping your club out, all that is required is enthusiasm. Ideally it would be great to have members young and old from all the sides Saturday and Sunday. If there is a role you think might suit you but you don’t wish to sit on the committee then that is also possible as the committee is allowed to co-opt members for specific roles/functions.
For any further information please don’t hesitate to contact any of the current committee and if you wish to put your name forward please contact the club secretary.
As well as a committee we need managers to run our sides.
If you feel that you could run a side, if you are the next Pep or Jose then please put your name forward. Obviously there is slightly more to it then showing up on a Sunday and naming a starting eleven but the committee are happy to bend over backwards to assist in the admin that goes with the job.
If you are interested then put your name forward or if you need more info please do ask.
This is a great club, about to enter our 51st season. What has made the club last so long and thrive and grow season on season is you its members. Please consider joining the committee or standing as a manager.
