Dear All,

I would like to welcome you to the new season. It is a great honour to have been elected Chairman of the Football Club for the 2026/2027 season. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our previous Chairman, Zeki Akdeniz, for all his hard work over the past year. This year’s committee and I are committed to building on that work and making the club even stronger.

One of my key aims is to restore a strong sense of community across the club. We should all be proud of what the club represents: 56 years old and still going strong.

Alongside me, Sam Shethran, Stef Milewczyk and Paul Gibbons were elected to the committee. As no one stood for the position of Social Secretary, I am giving formal notice, in line with the club constitution, that I have approached Alex Buckley to fill the role in an acting capacity until the end of the season.

For the last four seasons, we have paid someone to carry out the Fixtures Secretary role, and we will continue with that arrangement this season. I am pleased to confirm that Mia Redmond has agreed to take it on.

The following people have been appointed to manage the various sides:

• Sunday 1’s: Gus Agostini
• Sunday 2’s: Dave Redmond
• Sunday 3’s: Mike Phelan and Matt Gould
• Saturday 1’s: Rory Adam and Mush Mir
• Ramblers: Jim Richards
• Strollers: Alex Buckley

Regrettably, no one stood for the position of Saturday 2’s Manager, so we have had to fold the team, which is a real shame. I aim to appoint an Amblers Manager shortly, and we are also hopeful of restarting the Sunday 4’s under the management of Sam Shethran.

Registration will open within the next two weeks, and I encourage everyone to sign up for another year of football. As usual, any outstanding debts from last season must be settled before registration can be completed.

The club WhatsApp group will remain as it is until the start of the season. At that point, we will carry out some housekeeping by removing anyone who is no longer playing for us and adding all newcomers.

Training is currently scheduled for Tuesday evenings, although we are considering moving it to Wednesday evenings from August.

To avoid confusion, all club emails will be sent only from . If you are also an OWA member, you may receive emails from them from a different but similar address.
